Two bills that would require installation of green and blue roofs on new government buildings received overwhelming approval from the state Assembly in New Jersey. The measures would apply to roofs that are at least 15,000 sf. Green and blue roofs currently are not recognized in state regulations, so developers do not get credit for incorporating the technology in new buildings, according to a representative of the building industry.
