Alvarez-Glasman & Colvin, a City of Industry, Calif.-based law firm that services clients in industries including green building, is one of the state’s very few law firms with an associate that is a LEED accredited professional, as recognized by the USGBC.
Teresa Chen received her LEED certification with a specialization in Commercial Operations and Maintenance. She is also one of the few certified professionals employed in the legal field.
Chen works closely with property owners to ensure that their properties meet and exceed all industry standards, and also provide long-term energy savings. She is also versed in the legalities surrounding California’s CalGREEN Code, which requires that all new buildings constructed after January 1, 2011 are built using environmentally advanced construction practices. Crane Index indicates slowing private-sector construction
Private-sector construction in major North American cities is slowing, according to the latest RLB Crane Index. The number of tower cranes in use declined 10% since the first quarter of 2023. The index, compiled by consulting firm Rider Levett Bucknall (RLB), found that only two of 14 cities—Boston and Toronto—saw increased crane counts.
