Norman Foster’s design for 2 World Trade Center may be ousted, as developers are currently negotiating with Danish firm BIG (Bjarke Ingels Group) to redesign the original scheme, Dezeen reports.
According to the Wall Street Journal, developer Larry Silverstein is in talks with media magnate Rupert Murdoch to move the operations for 21st Century Fox and News Corp., which Murdoch owns, into the new tower.
BIG’s redesign will repurpose Foster’s original plan so that it is suitable for studio space. Foster’s designs were aimed at financial businesses, but Silverstein has had difficulty finding tenants from this sector.
