WDMA's National Architectural Door Council (NADC) has initiated a project to create ISO-compliant Product Category Rules (PCR) for architectural wood flush and stile & rail doors (CSI Master Codes 08 04 00).
Creation of a PCR is the first step, so that door manufacturers can develop ISO-compliant Life Cycle Assessments (LCA) and Environmental Product Declarations (EPD) for documenting their products' environmental attributes.
Architects and specifiers will use the standard in obtaining LEED v4 credits.

Smithsonian building $45 million green lab
Thanks to a $45 million federal appropriation to the Smithsonian Institution, the Smithsonian Environmental Research Center in Edgewater, Md., has broken ground on what is expected to be one of the most energy-efficient laboratories in the country. Sustainability tops the syllabus at net-zero energy school in Texas
