The Dallas Division of Walton Construction Company, LLC was recently awarded the contract to build the new Texas School for the Blind & Visually Impaired’s Main Instructional and Public Square Buildings in Austin, TX. The project team includes owner Texas Facilities Commission and architect Halff Associates Inc.

The Texas School for the Blind & Visually Impaired’s Main Instructional and Public Square Buildings is Walton’s first project in Austin. This project includes the construction of five new buildings including a two-story main instructional building, a natatorium, student activity center, kitchen and dining facility, and fine arts auditorium. Construction on this more than 118,360-square-foot-project is scheduled to begin in December and continue while classes remain in session. Construction is expected to finish in December 2010.
