VLK Architects has received LEED Silver Certification for Commercial Interiors for its Fort Worth office from the U.S. Green Bui

VLK Architects has received LEED Silver Certification for Commercial Interiors for its Fort Worth office from the U.S. Green Building Council.

The West 7th development, which houses the firm’s office, was designed to be LEED for Core & Shell, which gave VLK the head start on finishing out the area for LEED Silver Certification CI.

Sustainable elements within the office space include the daylight harvesting system, which saves considerable amounts of lighting, as well as the secondary energy metering system. This system allows the company to monitor energy consumption in lighting, conventional outlets and workstations, to maximize the overall energy output in the office. These components preserve precious resources while minimizing costs, which embraces LEED certification standards. BD+C
