Aiming for LEED Silver certification for the new College of Education and Human Services at the University of North Florida in Jacksonville, Baker Barrios Architects of Orlando and Florida-based construction firm Ajax Building Corporation made use of recycled regional materials, natural light, and low vapor-emitting materials. The result was an unexpected LEED Gold designation for the $20 million, 98,000-sf facility.
