For LEGO fanatics, time is no object when building a model. For those of us with a little less time, Ittyblox is a good solution. Ittyblox is a collection of 3D-printed, minutely-detailed miniature buildings produced by 3D printing company Shapeways. Every piece is created on demand at a 1:1000 scale.

Existing Ittyblox designs are based on the architecture of real cities. Generics exist, such as the Chicago “black box office buildings,” but there are also recreations of iconic buildings like the Guggenheim Museum.

Designs are sold individually and in themed sets; prices range from $6 for a Miami hotel and to $93 for a collection of New York buildings. The pieces are held together by a gridded baseplate, and can be augmented with a chunk of highway, a park, and LED lights under the buildings.

Lack of organizational readiness is biggest hurdle to artificial intelligence adoption

Managers of companies in the industrial sector, including construction, have bought the hype of artificial intelligence (AI) as a transformative technology, but their organizations are not ready to realize its promise, according to research from IFS, a global cloud enterprise software company. An IFS survey of 1,700 senior decision-makers found that 84% of executives anticipate massive organizational benefits from AI.
