Top 10 sports facilities of 2014: Designboom ranks the year's best projects

The list includes some of the year's epic stadiums, such as World Cup Stadium Arena de Amazonia in Manaus, Brazil, and smaller projects, like the Spordtgebouw Sports Centerin the Netherlands.

Designboom has tallied up the top 10 sports facilities of 2014. With the Winter Olympics and the World Cup taking place during the past year, it's been 12 months of massive sports stadiums and grandiose architecture.

On the other hand, more communities are create public spaces for exercising (and socializing). As a result, this list includes both the big and small triumphs in sports architecture for the past year.
