Fast Company's Nina Mandell writes about how an early adopter of UV infection-control robotics—St. Joseph’s Hospital Health Center in Syracuse—is seeing positive results. Since mid-2012, the hospital has employed the use of two robots (The UV Disinfection System from Xenex) that blast rooms with high levels of UV light to quickly sterilize the spaces. According to a hospital administrator, the robots have exceeded their expectations, cutting infections by 50% in some cases.
