Summit Design + Build, LLC recently completed the new 12,000-sq. ft. LEED certified retail center known as Park Place in Northbrook, Ill.  The firm also recently completed two retail build-outs within Park Place. The Equitable Group, Inc. is the owner/developer for the project.

Summit was responsible for the complete gut and renovation of the former auto repair shop which required the partial demolition of the existing building, while maintaining the integrity of the original 100 year-old structure, and significant re-grading and landscaping of the site.

Summit Design + Build was subsequently retained by Caribou Coffee to perform a 1,900 sq. ft. build-out of a full-service café featuring a custom brick fireplace and an outside patio at the northernmost end of the building. Sherwin-Williams also utilized Summit's services to complete their build-out of a 4,000 sq. ft. paint store at the southern end of the property.  An additional 5,200 sq. ft. of space, which can be divisible into two or three additional stores, is still available for lease.

Summit Design + Build's David A. Brown, project manager, and Jeff Harwood, superintendent, were responsible for the on-site construction of Park Place and the Caribou Coffee and Sherwin-Williams build-outs.

SAS Architects and Planners provided architectural services for the project.  Jonathan Plotkin and Oliver Plotkin of Chicago-based Endurance Retail Partners LLC are the exclusive marketing agents for the property. BD+C
