Concepts, Inc., a distributor of office furniture, workplace solutions and office design services.

The project is seeking LEED ID Silver certification from the U.S. Green Building Council. The Office Concept’s build-out included approximately 15,000-sf of office and 15,000-sf of warehouse. The space was designed to highlight their various product lines with varying ceiling heights and lighting in a dramatic open office layout. Other features include two glass conference rooms and a café and training room at the rear of the building which overlooks the Chicago River. Some of the LEED design principals included were high efficiency mechanical units and hot water heaters, locally produced materials, high recycled content/low emitting off gassing construction materials and low water consumption fixtures making the project not only energy efficient but a healthy building for its occupants.

Summit Design + Build’s Dave Mooney, senior project manager, Pat J. Lynn, project engineer, and Rodger Meyer, superintendent, were responsible for the on-site construction of Office Concepts, Inc. SKJN Architekten was the project architect. BD+C
