Suffolk Construction was awarded the $15.3 million design-build contract for the MBTA Revere Transit Facility & Streetscape project located in Revere, Mass.
The 21,000-sf project will feature construction of a cable-stayed pedestrian bridge over Ocean Avenue, an elevated plaza deck above Wonderland MBTA Station, a central plaza, and an at-grade pedestrian crossing over Revere Beach Boulevard. Various park improvements will also be part of the project.
Suffolk recently broke ground on the MBTA Revere Transit Facility & Streetscape project, which will provide safer and more convenient pedestrian connections between Wonderland Station, adjacent neighborhoods, and historic Revere Beach. The project will include new elevated walkways, two new stairways connecting the sidewalks on both sides of the project and the outbound platform to the elevated areas, and two new elevators to provide accessible connections between the sidewalks, transit station, and elevated plazas and walkways.
Suffolk was selected by the MBTA and the City of Revere in collaboration with the Department of Conservation and Recreation (DCR) to provide construction management services for the transit facility. The George W. Bush Presidential Center announced today it has earned Platinum certification by the U.S. Green Building Council’s Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design program. The Bush Center is the first presidential library to achieve LEED Platinum certification under New Construction.
