Notable meetings pertaining to standards and codes have been canceled or postponed this week due to the Covid-19 virus pandemic.
The U.S. Department of Energy has postponed the National Energy Codes Conference that was scheduled for May 11-13 in Chicago. The event has not been rescheduled as of yet. DOE advises attendees to cancel hotel reservations by May 1.
“Given the interactive nature of the event, we are prioritizing a rescheduled in-person event over a virtual format,” a DOE news release says. “We also plan to bolster our web-based education offerings in the interim.”
ASTM International canceled previously scheduled in-person May standards development meetings, including independent meetings. The organization had already canceled committee weeks in Boston and Prague.
