Smith Consulting Architects, a San Diego architectural firm, announced that construction is under way for the 75,000-square-foot expansion of Flower Hill Promenade, located in Del Mar, Calif.
The 14-acre center, originally built in 1977, is one of San Diego's premier shopping and dining destinations, with a collection of 42 specialty shops and restaurants. The $22 million expansion includes a 75,000-square-foot, two-story retail/office building and a 397-car parking structure, along with parking and circulation improvements and new landscaping throughout.
Smith Consulting Architects is acting as production architect on the design-build team of general contractor Lusardi Construction Company of San Marcos, Calif. The Lusardi/Smith Consulting Architects proposal was selected by owner Protea Properties among those of ten competing teams based on schedule and cost projections and their proven retail reputations. ‘Chicago’s healthiest office tower’ achieves LEED Gold, WELL Platinum, and WiredScore Platinum
Goettsch Partners (GP) recently completed 320 South Canal, billed as “Chicago’s healthiest office tower,” according to the architecture firm. Located across the street from Chicago Union Station and close to major expressways, the 51-story tower totals 1,740,000 sf. It includes a conference center, fitness center, restaurant, to-go market, branch bank, and a cocktail lounge in an adjacent structure, as well as parking for 324 cars/electric vehicles and 114 bicycles.
