Members of a San Francisco Board of Supervisors committee want changes in city policies for enforcement of city building codes.

Two supervisors charged that a lack of adequate code enforcement has led to blight from dilapidated or unfinished buildings.

One recommended that the city create a central database so departments could know about any complaint that has been made on a property and react more quickly, and said he would draft legislation to improve the blighted property problem.
