Safdie Architects announced the opening of its 2015 Research Fellowship. According to ArchDaily, the program, which features a theme of “dense urbanism,” encourages participants to tackle the challenges associated with contemporary urban landscapes using new tools and solutions to create a better functioning and humane city.
Some of the issues participants of the fellowship will encounter include rethinking dense urbanism’s approach to materiality, construction, environmental conditions, and the demographic realities of rapidly growing populations.
Those accepted into the Research Fellowship will spend one year in residence at Safdie Architects’ Boston office where they will receive support form the practice and have access to the firm’s resources and consultants.
To apply for the fellowship, send an email to fellowship@msafdie.com. All entries must be in by June 30 with an expected start in August.
