INTEGRIS Health in Edmond, OK, hosted a groundbreaking ceremony commemorating the start of construction on the INTEGRIS Health Edmond on October 22, 2008.
“We have wanted to build a hospital in Edmond for quite some time,” said INTEGRIS president and CEO, Stanley Hupfeld. “It won't be long now before that dream becomes a reality.”
HKS, Inc. provided design and architect of record services for the project. Robins & Morton Construction is the general contractor.
According to Jason Schroer, design director for HKS, Inc., the building is designed to reflect the natural environment of the site while also providing a place to gracefully apply the healing powers of modern medicine. “Patients will drive down a tree-lined parkway to enter the hospital. The main lobby, primarily glass, provides direct views and a constant connection with the natural site and daylight. Seating areas provide additional views to the surrounding nature.”
The $60-million hospital, which incorporates lean design principles, will include 24 medical/surgical beds, six intensive care beds, and 10 LDRPs. It will also contain an emergency department with 17 rooms along with the imaging modalities of MRI, CT, general radiography, and ultrasound. The hospital is designed for additional growth.
INTEGRIS Health Edmond will employ as many as 200 people and have an initial economic impact of $140 million. The estimated completion date is set for the fall of 2010.
