Some towers in Miami, rebuilt after a hurricane in 2005, were allowed to be constructed under older building codes instead of newer ones created after Hurricane Wilma. Those who built under the old codes may come to regret it, a county official says.
"If we ever get hit, we’ll see who was smart and who wasn’t," said Charles Danger, Miami-Dade County’s building chief.
