Like most major cities, Chicago is tight on space. LG Construction + Development, a local developer, is proposing a 15-story apartment building that will take up only a quarter-acre plot of land in the city’s Printers’ Row neighborhood.

The complex will feature high-end, 350-sf studio units, according to Curbed Chicago. The micro apartments are meant for the area’s young professionals—people who want to live in a vibrant and convenient area of Chicago but cannot afford larger units.

The building will hold 90 rental units (which will go for about $1,000 a month), 40 pre-furnished extended-stay hotel rooms, and a small retail space on the ground floor.

The top floor of the building will have meeting rooms, work areas, and an outdoor green roof. A design architect has yet to be selected.

What's it like to live in such a small space? Curbed profiled a Chicago micro apartment-dweller a few months ago.
