Precast Concrete Work Completed At Cowboys' Stadium

Precast Concrete Work Completed At Cowboys' Stadium

By Staff | August 11, 2010

Heldenfels Enterprises, Inc. has completed its installation and finish out of the precast/prestressed concrete seating risers and walls for the new Dallas Cowboys' Stadium. Heldenfels along with its subcontractors — Precast Erectors, Inc. and Grout Tech, Inc. — completed final detail work in late January 2009. The project required nearly 3,000 pieces of precast containing over 14,000 cubic yards of concrete and weighing 28,000 tons. Heldenfels invested more than 216,702 man hours in the manufacture, shipping and installation of precast.

Jim Barberi, senior project manager for Heldenfels, stated that the positive working relationship with Manhattan Construction Company has been key to a successful schedule. Manhattan self-performed all the cast-in-place work, which progressed smoothly and on time, ahead of precast erection and connections.

Heldenfels is now helping construct both the Cedar Park and Allen Event Centers, future homes to minor-league hockey teams. The family-owned firm has helped construct 11 major sports facilities during the past 10 years, including Houston's Reliant Stadium, also with Manhattan; AT&T Center, home of the San Antonio Spurs; and Toyota Center, home of the Houston Rockets. Other Heldenfels sports facilities include Minute Maid Park and the North End Zone expansion of Kyle Field at Texas A&M.
