PCL to Build State-of-the-Art Laboratory

By Staff | August 11, 2010

PCL Construction Services Inc. has been selected by the National Institute of Standards and Technology to construct a precision measurement laboratory in Boulder.

The 120,000-square-foot advanced laboratory, to be built to the west of NIST's main laboratory building, will meet strict environmental conditions, with a focus on environmental stability of temperature control, vibration control and power quality.

"We always welcome new and exciting challenges in our industry, and believe that the NIST laboratory building is highly unique," said Lucas Mallory, PCL's senior project manager. "As a top U.S. general contractor and top LEED certified general contractor, we have the network and experience to successfully bring this project to completion, meeting the high standards for environmental stability along the way."

The new state-of-the-art laboratory space is slated for completion during fourth quarter 2011. Landscaping, site enhancements and additional parking are also included in the plans.
