Ohio legislature moves to bar LEED standards on state projects

February 7, 2014

The use of LEED standards is being barred for public construction in Ohio under a state senate resolution. Chemical and manufacturing trade groups said LEED discourages the use of vinyl and other chemical products, and was created without input from their industry. Others said LEED does not ban these products, but seeks to encourage materials with longer life spans and drives developers of green buildings to disclose the materials they used.
