Margulies Perruzzi Architects, Boston, designed the new 11,460-sf offices for consultant Interaction Associates and its nonprofit sister organization, The Interaction Institute for Social Change, inside an old warehouse near Boston’s Seaport Center. Since both organizations are focused on interaction, the office design includes lots of open and flex space, including an elevated open area with 5,100 sf of work space, two large co-joined meeting rooms, and a sunken central collaboration area dubbed the “living room,” complete with multiple seating options and mobile furniture.
The office also includes smaller, enclosed conference rooms for private meetings, two telephone rooms for Skyping, four private offices, and a catering kitchen. Three staircases and two ramps connect the various spaces. Gilbane’s Special Project Group/New England and Integrated Interiors, Boston, were also part of the Building Team, which helped complete the buildout in seven months.
