New Jersey considers green roof mandate for state buildings

The New Jersey legislature is considering a bill that would require installation of green or blue roofs on state buildings that are at least 15,000 sf.

The New Jersey legislature is considering a bill that would require installation of green or blue roofs on state buildings that are at least 15,000 sf. The goal is to control the flow of stormwater runoff either through vegetation or use of mechanical devices. The measure also allows rooftop solar panels as long as they do not affect the performance of the green or blue roofs.
