At nearly 1,000,000 sf, the new Dollar General distribution center in Longview, Texas is expected to create about 400 new jobs and serve approximately 1,000 Dollar General stores in Texas and the southeast.

The Leo A Daly-designed facility will be the 17th distribution center overall for Dollar General and the second in Texas. The new location was selected because of its proximity to Dollar General stores, the local business environment and workforce, and the availability of local and state economic incentives.

The retailer has selected Clayco as the general contractor for the project and Elan Design will handle civil engineering duties.

Construction is expected to begin in early 2018 pending the receipt of all required governmental permits and development approvals.
