August 11, 2010

The “green workplace” strategies of Bloomberg, Google, Sprint, Adobe, Texas Instruments, and many other companies are profiled in The Green Workplace, a comprehensive guide that demonstrates how green businesses can reduce costs, improve recruitment and retention, increase shareholder value, and contribute to a healthier natural environment.

Written by Leigh Stringer, a VP at global A/E firm HOK, founder of blog TheGreenWorkplace.com, and a 2007 BD+C40 under 40 winner, the book offers techniques to get employees to be more green and shows why companies should green their entire organizations—from building to business practices.

Published by Palgrave MacMillan, The Green Workplace will be released August 4, 2009.

Detroit’s Michigan Central Station, centerpiece of innovation hub, opens

The recently opened Michigan Central Station in Detroit is the centerpiece of a 30-acre technology and cultural hub that will include development of urban transportation solutions.
