This article first appeared in the August 2012 issue of BD+C.

NELSON, a global interior design, architecture, engineering, strategies, workplace services and information services firm, reached an agreement to merge its local Chicago/Midwest region operations with Torchia Associates, Inc., an architectural and interior design firm.

Leaders from the two firms describe their relationship as one that has evolved from “competitive” to a “competitive advantage” in the Midwest market and beyond. Both NELSON and Torchia have remained strong during the challenging economic times both experiencing growth in their Chicago/Midwest region operations. The combined firms will be strategically positioned to further extend their successes and improve their local, national and global coverage. +
