A residential tower under construction in Melbourne, Australia, will feature a façade that lights up according to weather.

According to the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat, the Lend Lease Group tower will be built at Melbourne’s Docklands on 888 Collins St., and will be linked to the Bureau of Meteorology, providing an interpretation of weather data every half-hour.

The tower will be illuminated by 164-foot-tall beams of LED light.

The Herald Sun reports that Canadian-born lighting designer Bruce Ramus was behind the concept. Ramus’ portfolio includes work on shows for the musical acts of U2, REM, and David Bowie.

In a release, Ramus said the design’s purpose is to “bring integrity, harmony, and movement to architecture, public art, staging, and outdoor spaces.”

The tower is slated for completion in 2017.

The Herald Sun has the full report.
