MaxLite has received an “Honorable Mention” for its LED Edge-Lit Flat Panels, at the 2011 Lighting for Tomorrow Competition.

Since 2002, the competition has recognized the best of the new energy-efficient residential lighting products that are helping to transform the market for efficient lighting, including those with high consumer appeal and usage. All LED luminaires were evaluated by a diverse panel of expert judges, and judged based on their ability to produce high quality white light for their intended applications, while using less energy than comparable technologies.

As a past LFT winner, the company was recognized for its LED FlatMax Flat Panel, and according to the award brochure, “The judging panel was particularly impressed with the performance of this fixture.” BD+C

Make sure to get your multifamily amenities mix right

One of the hardest decisions multifamily developers and their design teams have to make is what mix of amenities they’re going to put into each project. A lot of squiggly factors go into that decision: the type of community, the geographic market, local recreation preferences, climate/weather conditions, physical parameters, and of course the budget. The permutations are mind-boggling.
