Libya’s architecture in limbo

In the past couple of years, Libya has been on the forefront on cutting edge architecture. Competing with other Middle Eastern countries, such as Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, and Qatar, Libya has been able to keep up with the region’s architecture boom. However, as civil unrest continues to shake the nation and with the Security Council of the United Nation slapping sanctions on Libya, many international AEC firms with ongoing projects in the country have all vowed that they will no longer work in Libya under Gaddafi’s regime and suspended all projects.
