Illinois state officials announced that Lafarge North America is moving its North America headquarters to Illinois from Virginia and will create up to 100 jobs.
Lafarge will invest $10 million in Illinois. It is one of the largest concrete manufacturing companies in the country and already has some workers in Illinois. Lafarge CEO John Stull says the factors in their decision were location in the Midwest and area transportation.
Officials say the relocation will create about 90 jobs in the first two years. Company officials haven't determined the exact location but say it will be in the Chicago area near O'Hare International Airport. BD+C
