HQ renovations aim for modern look

HQ renovations aim for modern look

October 13, 2010

Gerner Kronick + Valcarcel Architects’ renovations to the Commonwealth Bank of Australia’s New York City headquarters will feature a reworked reception lobby with back-painted glass, silk-screened logos, and a video wall. Work inside the 22,000-sf space will also focus on updating the boardroom and the dining room; an open pantry will be centrally located within the office and have island seating for informal gatherings. The trading floor will be raised to allow traders to take advantage of daylighting and views.

U.S. is reducing floodplain development in most areas

The perception that the U.S. has not been able to curb development in flood-prone areas is mostly inaccurate, according to new research from climate adaptation experts.
