Join us for a supersized CAFamily Studio Sunday. CAF teams up with Chicago-area engineers to kick off Engineering Week 2011 with a daylong festival of fun, hands-on activities designed to help families discover what engineers do.
Drop by between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. to try out activities and have fun solving engineering challenges. Activities for the whole family! Plan your visit around our special presentations & tours.
Presentations
- Imagine Big! Can you construct an earthquake-proof skyscraper?
- What's it like to work on the world's tallest building? Come and find out at this interactive presentation specially designed for kids and their families. Meet an engineer who has worked on the world's tallest building—the Burj Khalifa in Dubai and Chicago's own Trump Tower.
Presentations will be at Noon, 1, and 2.
Tours
Brrrrr—Tours in February? You bet! Ride in style to visit some of the engineering marvels in downtown Chicago on our special Trolley Tours! Two different tour routes departing at 11:30, 12:30, 1:30, and 2:30. Drop in anytime between 11am and 4pm
Find out. Figure out. Try out. Activities are designed for children ages 5 - 13 and students ages 14 - 18 interested in engineering careers. Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
