JE Dunn's New Headquarters

Aug. 11, 2010

JE Dunn Construction recently held a topping out ceremony at its new headquarters building in Kansas City. The company broke ground on the 203,000-square-foot structure — which will house 550 employees — in December 2007.

The five-story office building, designed by BNIM/360° Architects, will include an adjacent parking structure to serve 780 vehicles, which will accommodate both JE Dunn employees and the public. The company plans to move into their new building in August 2009.

To achieve LEED Gold certification for the building, JE Dunn will recycle 75 percent of all construction waste; will use energy alternatives to help curb gas usage; and 10 to 20 percent of all materials used will be extracted, processed and manufactured within a 500-mile radius of Kansas City. The building will use 40 percent less water than the minimum standards required by the EPA.

JE Dunn Construction Group is the 10th largest general building contractor in the United States and is comprised of six construction companies with offices in 22 locations.
