Walter P Moore's Larry Griffis, P.E., presented with J. Lloyd Kimbrough Award, AISC's highest honor for steel design

HOUSTON, TX – April 9, 2009 –Lawrence “Larry” G. Griffis, P.E., President of the Structures Division and Senior Principal with WALTER P MOORE, has been presented with the American Institute of Steel Construction’s (AISC) highest individual honor. The J. Lloyd Kimbrough Award, named for AISC's first President, honors engineers and architects who are universally recognized as the pre-eminent steel designers of their era. This prestigious award is presented to an individual who has made an outstanding contribution to the structural steel industry through his or her design work.  It is not given annually – only when a deserving individual, such as Griffis, is selected. 

The American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC), headquartered in Chicago, is a not-for-profit technical institute and trade association established in 1921 to serve the structural steel design community and construction industry in the United States.
