HDR Architecture, Inc. and G+G Partnership Architects are joining forces. The alliance, to operate as HDR | G + G, will strengthen both firms’ leadership in healthcare design, and enhance their presence in science and technology building types throughout the eastern Canadian marketplace.

“HDR’s merger with G+G solidifies the leadership position for the delivery of healthcare design throughout Canada that was formed with HDR’s alliance in 2007 with Mill & Ross Architects,” said Merle Bachman, president of HDR Architecture, Inc.  “The union means that HDR can locally offer the full extent of its integrated healthcare design expertise across Ontario and the country.”

“The HDR and G+G Partnership union is especially fitting as our firms share many of the same principles and values,” said Girish Ghatalia, partner of G+G Partnership Architects. “Both our firms emphasize dedication and commitment to comprehensive client service, knowledge-based design, technical competence, reliability, and responsiveness to client expectations. As a result, both firms have also enjoyed a long history of repeat business from valued and dedicated clients, as well as a steady progression of new clients.”

HDR I G+G will now provide healthcare design services from offices in Toronto, London, Kingston and Ottawa, Ontario. Integrated design team professionals include architects, intern architects, hospital planners, laboratory planners, designers, technologists, CADD technicians, interior designers and mechanical/electrical/commissioning coordinators.

Founded in 1991, G+G Partnership Architects is one of Ontario's largest architectural practices specializing in the design of healthcare facilities and technology-oriented buildings such as laboratory, biotechnology and pharmaceutical facilities. The firm’s founding principals, Girish Ghatalia and John Greenan, have been practicing for 30 years. With the help of G+G’s dedicated team of senior management and architects, G+G has experienced steady growth and now employs over 75 experienced and committed personnel.

HDR Architecture, Inc. is based in Omaha, Nebraska, and operates more than 40 architecture offices worldwide. It is an employee-owned A/E/C firm consistently ranked as one of the top 10 design firms and, for an unprecedented six consecutive years, as the leading healthcare design firm in the United States by Modern Healthcare magazine. As an integrated firm, HDR provides a total spectrum of services for its clients, with an extensive and diverse healthcare project portfolio that includes replacement hospitals, outpatient care centers, specialty care hospitals, medical office buildings and university and teaching facilities. Through its HDR CUH2A division, it is also well known as an innovator in building design for science and technology facilities.
