Session leaders confirmed to date include: Ron Herbst, Global Head of Energy Management &
Sustainability; Scott Muldavin, founder of Green Building Finance Consortium; and Dave Winstead, former Commissioner of Public Buildings Service for GSA.

Robin Rather, an environmental strategist based in Austin, will moderate a Town Hall.  Austin Mayor Will Wynn, known nationwide for his support of environmental issues, heads the Austin Welcome Committee.

The Corporate Sustainability Summit marks the beginning of a new network for an emerging professional specialty – executives that lead corporations in environmental responsibility and sustainable initiatives. Some corporations are still writing job descriptions for the executives in this new field. Facilities managers, real estate directors, and other corporate executives grappling with sustainability issues may also attend the Summit.

A key objective of the Corporate Sustainability Summit: For executives filling this newly emerging position to meet in an intimate setting that allows face-to-face contact. “Many of these people have never met one another, even though they have similar problems and challenges,” says Glenn Fischer, president of Center for Corporate Sustainability.  “One of the goals is for attendees to return home with a PDA crammed with new contacts.”

Registration is limited to 150. Breakout sessions will be kept small to facilitate interaction between session leaders and attendees.  At the Summit headquarters hotel, the Austin Hilton, a lounge with comfortable living room style furniture is being set up to allow small groups to meet on their own.

The Center of Corporate Sustainability, a non-profit, is hosting the Summit.  Other principals in the Center are Dave Hewett, former Chairman of BOMA International, and Alan Whitson, President of Corporate Realty, Design & Management Institute and leader of the acclaimed Turning Green into Gold educational programs.

The theme for the Summit is Connect, Learn, Profit.
