Witkin Hults Design Group, a landscape architecture and planning firm, announced the opening of an office in Rio de Janeiro.

The firm also announced formation of a strategic alliance with a prominent Brazilian developer. The two companies are investigating several potential properties for hotel and resort development in Brazil.

“Our decision to establish an office in Rio de Janeiro was based on extensive market research and networking in Brazil over the past 18 months,” says Witkin Hults president and founder Andrew Witkin, ASLA.

“With World Cup in 2014 and the Olympics in 2016, the eyes of the world will be on Brazil and we wanted to be part of creating special places for this dynamic country and the millions of visitors it will be hosting. The relationship we now have with one of Brazil’s most respected development companies will help us credibly pursue projects there, primarily but not exclusively in the hospitality field.”

An award-winning firm founded in 1988, Witkin Hults Design Group is active with diversified projects, including hospitality, mixed-use, residential, commercial, retirement, health and public projects, throughout Florida, the Caribbean and Central and South America. It provides planning and design of landscapes, recreational amenities, exterior lighting, hardscapes, entry signage and related exterior environment features.
