The 200,000-sf, $72 million Tower II office building is scheduled to begin construction in Rockville, Md., this winter. Planned to be the world's largest commercial application of ancient Vedic architecture, the project was designed by Kishimoto, Gordon, Dalaya of McLean, Va., and Maharishi Global Construction, Fairfield, Iowa. Vedic architecture is said to follow "the eternal laws of nature" by its proponents. Related building features include a brahmasthan—an unobstructed central core that remains open to the sky. Developer Jeffrey Abramson said the building will have the most advanced environmental technologies along with ancient Vedic design principles.
