Aug. 11, 2010

Cedar Rapids, Iowa’s new $65 million casino/hotel/event center is scheduled to open this fall, with its golf course opening next summer. When finished, the Riverside Casino and Golf Resort will encompass nearly 375 acres adjacent to the Iowa River.

The five-story, 141,000-sf hotel will feature modern amenities in its 200 rooms and suites, including flat-screen TVs and high-speed Internet access. The 58,000-sf, single-floor casino will accommodate up to 1,400 slot machines, 24 blackjack tables, four craps tables, three roulette tables, and a 10-table poker room, as well as an elevated central bar with an overhead fountain and four dining areas. The indoor multipurpose center will hold 1,200 seats.

The project was designed by KKE Architects, Minneapolis.
