Color defines the world that we live in, shifting our feelings and perspectives. It is a universal language that communicates to both the heart and the mind.

Do you have goals for the new year for your diet, career, or lifestyle? Kate Smith, an international color expert recommends using color this new year to help shape your world.

Green for healthy eating

Did you know that green helps encourage making wise food choices? Adding green to the kitchen, such as green dishes or accents promotes healthy eating choices and earthy foods.

“The color green inspires healthy food choices and triggers you to think of vegetables and fresh foods,” says Smith.

Red for attracting love

This may come as no surprise, as the color red is good at getting attention, being noticed, and inspiring confidence.

“Surrounding yourself with the appeal-enhancing power of the color of love and romance, may be all it takes to woo someone new,” says Smith.

Orange and red for organization

Decluttering and organizing are common new year goals, that aren’t always attained. A splash of orange or red may just do the trick, as these colors inspire a sense of urgency and success. Bring these colors to areas of your life that are overcome with clutter to reach your organizational goals.
