Do coating warranties vary?

When considering warranties, a variety of considerations need to be taken into account. What are your performance requirements? What is the end-use application and are there special factors to take into account? What environmental factors need to be considered? Carefully answering these questions enables building professionals to find the right coatings for a given project.

Valspar coatings are formulated with both organic and inorganic pigments, depending on the desired color and performance requirements. Chalking and fading occurs when the pigment itself breaks down. The performance characteristics of pigments varies widely between different coatings and impacts product warranties.

Will your project be exposed to salt spray or extreme weather? These important considerations are essential for selecting the ideal coating system. Valspar has special coatings that are designed to withstand the harshest environments while remaining pristine.

Valspar’s Flurothane coastal coating utilizes a thick film primer to withstand the most extreme coastal environments, even when located within 1,500 feet of the coast. WeatherXL is an innovative coating known for their durability in extreme weather conditions. This two-coat system provides strong resistance to scratching, chalking, fading, and weathering.

Film integrity is determined by the resin system of the coating, which varies by coating manufacturer. Valspar testing facilities have been instrumental in our scientist formulating exceptional resins.

At Valspar, we create coatings that exceed expectation. We deliver high-performance coatings that stand the test of time.
