Graphisoft teams up with NEC, Japanese construction giant to develop cloud BIM server technology

Graphisoft, NEC Corporation and leading Japanese Construction Company Obayashi Corp. announced this week that they are working on joint development of a BIM cloud-computing platform to provide integrated building information modeling workflows and company-wide BIM-based information sharing. Obayashi’s entire operations are the testing ground for this new platform. NEC was brought in for its expertise in large, enterprise-wide cloud applications.

Graphisoft, NEC Corporation and leading Japanese Construction Company Obayashi Corp. announced this week that they are working on joint development of a BIM cloud-computing platform to provide integrated building information modeling workflows and company-wide BIM-based information sharing. Obayashi’s entire operations are the testing ground for this new platform. NEC was brought in for its expertise in large, enterprise-wide cloud applications.

Grapshisoft introduced its BIM Server design file sharing and workflow tools in ArchiCAD 13 back in 2009. This new platform, will be based on existing BIM Server technology.
