To meet the growing need for proven, sustainable insulation solutions in the metal building industry, Owens Corning Insulating Systems introduces EcoTouch® Insulation with PureFiber® Technology for Metal Buildings. Developed for use by architects, design/build contractors, metal building insulation contractors and building owners, EcoTouch® Insulation for Metal Buildings is the latest addition to Owens Corning Insulating Systems’ successful EcoTouch® Insulation portfolio.

Already proven in the residential and commercial segments, this innovative, advanced insulation technology features a formaldehyde-free1 formulation made of natural2 materials, is easy to handle and offers industry-leading thermal and acoustical performance. It meets all industry codes and standards and contributes to energy savings throughout the life of a building.

“Proper insulation is a critical component in the construction of today’s metal buildings to control heat flow, prevent condensation and reduce noise,” said Alex Legall, vice president and general manager, air handling and Mechanical Systems for Owens Corning Insulating Systems. “EcoTouch® Insulation with PureFiber® Technology for Metal Buildings is specifically engineered to meet the unique thermal and acoustical requirements of metal structures. As we mark 75 years as a global leader in the building materials industry, we’re excited to introduce yet another innovative, sustainable solution for our metal building construction customers.”

EcoTouch® Insulation with PureFiber® Technology for Metal Buildings features a sustainable, bio-based binder made of 96 percent natural materials, consisting of minerals and plant-based compounds. The product also features a minimum of 65 percent recycled content and meets indoor air quality standards under the GREENGUARD Children & Schools Certification Program.

In addition to its sustainability benefits, EcoTouch® Insulation with PureFiber® Technology for Metal Buildings features industry-leading thermal and acoustical performance characteristics of Owens Corning EcoTouch® PINK® FIBERGLAS™ Insulation. It also is soft to the touch – making it easy for contractors to handle with less itch and irritation.

To assure that R-values are maintained after lamination, Owens Corning EcoTouch® Insulation with PureFiber® Technology for Metal Buildings is regularly tested to ensure compliance to the NAIMA 202-96 (Rev. 2000) Standard. Sampling and testing is performed by the National Association of Home Builders Home Innovation Research Lab (NAHB-RC), and each roll is labeled with the nominal R-value and “NAIMA 202-96” (Rev. 2000) to indicate compliance.
