This past summer at its Long Island City museum MoMA PS1 displayed a 56-foot-wide, 45-foot-tall blue starburst-shaped courtyard housing as part of its annual tradition of inviting participants to develop creative designs for a temporary outdoor installation. Designed by New York-based architecture firm HWKN, the installation featured AirGo fans donated by Big Ass Fans, selected for their high-volume, low-speed technology that delivers energy-efficient air movement with 360-degree angle adjustment capabilities. The resulting circulation pushes air through the titania nanoparticle-treated nylon skin of the housing, neutralizing air pollutants.
