Keene State College plans new 137-bed student housing facility

Dec. 9, 2011

A new four-story, 57,000-sf student residence hall is planned for Keene State College in Keene, N.H. Named Arcadia Hall, the 137-bed building will feature three gabled-end apartment wings facing toward the main campus. Bow windows and two distinctive precast concrete arched entrances will provide an entryway to landscaped courtyards. The city required the Building Team, led by Tsomides Associates Architects Planners of Newton Upper Falls, Mass., and Saloomey Construction of Westfield, Mass., to use traditional brick, coordinating the façade with the historic downtown district. Private bedrooms will be available in three- and four-bedroom suites, each unit with a living room, kitchen and dining area, and two full baths. Students can mingle in a communal activity room and café.
