To help revitalize the Hialeah Park Race Track in Hialeah, Fla., EwingCole has designed a new casino as part of an ongoing renovation project. The 180,000-sf, two-story addition includes a 1,250-slot gaming floor, a poker mezzanine with 36 tables, a 90-seat casino lounge, and a 180-seat dining village. Working closely with the park’s owner, John Bruetti, Sr., the Building Team will also renovate the existing north Grandstand Building and construct a porte-cochere and covered arcades to refurbish the historic paddock and Flamingo Fountain garden. Originally designed by Lester Geisler, the racetrack was a popular destination for many decades. Verdant landscaping and French Mediterranean architecture offers visitors a reprieve from everyday life.
