Students attending the San Diego Mesa College are eagerly awaiting completion of the school’s new four-story Math and Science Building. Architects Delawie Wilkes Rodrigues Barker designed the 180,000-sf building to house four floors of classrooms, lab space, and offices for biology, chemistry, mathematics, and physical sciences departments. Designed to achieve LEED Silver status, the $92 million project optimizes natural daylight in all classrooms, while high-performance low-e glazing on windows rejects ultraviolet and infrared light waves. Cool-roof material also reflects sunlight to reduce energy consumption.
