The new 79,000-sf Escambia County Central Office Complex in Pensacola, Fla., is the first government project in the county to qualify for LEED status. To meet the requirements, the Building Team, led by Bay Design Associates Architects Pensacola, used Galvalume Plus Snap-Clad Panels and Flush Panels from Petersen Aluminum Corp. About 30,000 sf of 24-gauge unpainted panels were used on the structure, helping the facility achieve LEED Gold certification.
“It was a tight budget and the county wanted the most cost-efficient building possible with the least maintenance,” project architect Steve Jernigan said in a press release. “[The panels] offered low maintenance and a high recycled content.”
